Training Description
Agile principles and practices are adopted by an increasing number of organizations to develop software-intensive systems. They were initially used in small to medium-sized software development endeavors with shorter durations and few, co-located teams.
Meanwhile, more and more organizations are using agile principles and practices for the development of larger software systems with complex requirements, numerous, distributed, and autonomous teams as well as short development cycles. In this context, architecture is of particular importance. For example, it defines a framework for incremental software development with multiple teams and is the basis for assessing and controlling changes to requirements. Thus, architectural concepts and practices are key to achieving business goals related to e.g., time to market, cost efficiency, product quality, and customer satisfaction.
There are already numerous concepts, and practices for the design, evaluation, and documentation of architectures of various kinds and on different abstraction levels (e.g., enterprise architecture, solution architecture, system architecture). These can also be used sensibly in the context of agile software development endeavors.
In this 3-day training course with practical exercises, the participants learn how architectures can be designed, evaluated, and documented in scaled agile development endeavors. The focus is on how agile and architectural practices can be combined. In addition, methodological and communicative aspects in the context of architecture are treated.
